I write these up not because I think I have any particular insight to share with an audience, but because I find it very interesting to read these years after the fact, as a contemporaneous record of my opinions at the time. That includes both thoughts about the players who are being evaluated but also what it says about what metrics I valued at the time, how I was thinking about the relative value of fielding versus batting, etc. All baserunning values referred to below are Fangraphs’ baserunning runs less those attributable to stolen bases, which are already accounted for in my runs created estimates.
For Nolan Jones, I'm not sure if you are only looking at this "range" portion and ignoring the "arm" portion from Fielding Run Value at Savant. His arm is tremendous. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/fielding-run-value?sortColumn=runs_prevented_on_arm&sortDirection=desc
